As far as I know (at least from the descriptions,) the BAR is a close to medium range LMG, and the M1919 is a medium to long range LMG. Plus you can get into a defensive stance with the M1919, and it is really the only reason to choose the infantry company. The USF are my favorite, but in all my usage with both the pick up weapons I'm still not sure which one does more damage at medium range

I've had the M1918 for a little while and actually just upgraded two parts a couple days ago not realizing I was close to unlocking the M1919. From the description, it looks like damage is the same but the clips is larger in the M1919. It's also 177,500 to purchase, after spending 120K+ on the M1918. It would almost break the bank but if it's clearly a better gun.
